The
Socrates Oliver Veterinary Hospital at Torda,
which was opened mid March this year, has already treated
over 75 resident animals. 55 of these were stray dogs
picked up within the panchayat area, and sterilised
and immunised by us free of cost.
At
the moment we do not get a government grant for these
activities and are funding these operations ourselves.
Food and medicines alone for each stray dog amounts
to Rs 160. We need to be able to perform at least 100
such operations a month to qualify for the grant.
In
order to step up our activities to reach that level,
any public support that we can get help to fund us with
the food and medicine bill at least will be most welcome.
Please send your cheques (in rupees only) in favour
of the "Goa SPCA" to us at
