Medical
Camps
In the absence of a physical
location, till such time as the hospital construction
was under progress, the Goa SPCA conducted monthly roving
vaccination camps in the state of Goa. With the help
of volunteer vets, Drs Kiran and Rashmi Rao,
and donations of anti rabies vaccines.Over 250 Indian
dogs were vaccinated against rabies free of cost in
market areas in Mapusa, Porvorim, Panjim, and Margao
during the monsoon months of July to September, 2001.
These
vaccination camps around the state will continue at
periodic intervals. Watch out for the advertisement
announcements in the local papers, and do help to bring
in your neighborhood animals. While the vaccinations
are totally free for stray dogs and cats, we welcome
a donation of Rs 80 only per vaccination for owners
dogs provided they are of a mixed or local breed.
