Is Fish Curry Rice as good for your dog as it is for you?

That was the theme of a special camp on animal nutrition held at the GSPCA, Torda on September 29 by the world's largest makers of pet food, Waltham, owners of the Pedigree and Whiskas brands.

Ads in the newspapers, posters at various prominent locations, and personal invitations were sent out to vets and pet owners.Attended by a large group of people, the nutrition scientists from Waltham, Dr K Umesh and his team, presented the nuances of nutrition to all, and explained the differences in the nutrient requirements of humans and various species of animals. He stressed the importance of a balanced diet at various stages of growth and aging, and showed how what is balance to one animal may well be imbalance to another! .Waltham has also developed their first ever vegetarian dog food for India - made purely from predigested vegetable proteins and other nutirents. This product, along with other samples and a Pedigree Digest, were provided free to all participants.The camp made it to the front page of a leading local paper, Herald.
