In November, 2001, there will be one specifically on the subject of using and abusing animals for experiments, an all too prevalent problem in colleges and laboratories, sometimes even in high schools. Not many know that there has been a recent court ruling that leaves such experiments to the discretion of high school students i.e. they cannot be forced to experiment on animals, and choose to opt out of the dissection choice, with no effect on their grades. We will be in touch with college authorities in the course of the next month, to obtain suitable dates for our presentations which will be aimed at explaining the rules and regulations governing such experiments, and also more importantly, outlining the various alternative routes to arriving at statistically acceptable results without having to subject animals to unnecessary cruelty
