The
GSPCA conducts a series of training programs, specifically
aimed at creating awareness about certain aspects of
cruelty to animals among relevant groups. This year,
these are being conducted jointly with People For Animals,
Goa, already known for their tireless dedication to
the cause of animal welfare, who were instrumental in
introducing the GSPCA to Goa. These are:
1.
"And justice for all" - a workshop on
the animal laws of India, for law enforcement officers
in the police, forest and animal husbandry departments,
civil magistrates, and key members of animal welfare
organisations.
2.
"Be a guardian angel" - a workshop on
first aid covering canine, feline, bovine, aquatic,
avian and reptilian emergencies for those in the general
public with genuine interest, who cannot always find
a vet or an animal welfare worker nearby.
3.
"You can choose not to kill" - a workshop
on alternatives to animal experimentation for high school
and college students, veterinary college students, and
research officers in pharma labs.
5.
"Checking zoos, slaughterhouses, animal markets
etc" - a workshop designed specifically for
animal welfare workers and inspectors, and interested
members of the public.
